an INITIATIVE of Peace Village projects

We created this initiative for YOU:  the patient, caregiver, or health care professional.  Our greatest joy is seeing you using these techniques and realizing you can make a real difference by providing comfort, relieving stress, and reducing pain.

Janet Kahn, pH.D., lMT

I have devoted my life to service.

I am a massage therapist, research scientist and co-developer of the Touch, Caring & Cancer program,

I love to watch families and communities blossom as they discover the power of touch and healing presence within themselves.

Through Peace Village Projects, I have offered instruction in these and other mind-body skills to civilians, veterans and active duty military, in the United States, Palestine and Israel.

I hold appointments in the University of Vermont in the College of Medicine, and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

My mom had cancer for 17 years.

I learned first hand how stressful it is to watch someone you love suffer and not know what to do.

I don't want others to experience that sense of powerlessness.

This is why I do what I do.

Trained as a professional educator and bodywork practitioner, I am devoted to reducing pain, anxiety, and stress through teaching simple, effective skills.

I love to see those I teach grow in their confidence and ability to provide relief and comfort for a loved one.

I have a private practice treating, and teaching, clients and family members simple massage, acupressure, and aromatherapy.
